2009 Kaohsiung: Without Indoor Hockey

Indoor hockey, which was to feature for the second time as an invitational sport at The World Games, is taken off the program for 2009 Kaohsiung. FIH, hockey's governing body, would have been allocated a quota of 125 athletes and officials.

Olympic Recognition: Reviewed And Confirmed

The Recognized International Sports Federations are informed about the outcome of a review of their status. The IOC announces the five sports shortlisted for further study in the revision process of the Olympic Program for 2016.
