If a lifter tests positive for anabolic substances at The World Games 2009 Kaohsiung, his or her federation and the lifter will be suspended by the IPF for two years. The federation will be fined.

If a lifter tests positive prior to The World Games, his or her federation is not allowed to replace the lifter. A reserve lifter will be selected by the IPF.
