The Chinese Taipei women's tug-of-war team won the title in the 520 kg division of the 2008 World Indoor Championships held in Faenza, Italy, on 23 February.

The team, made up of athletes from the Taipei Physical Education College, beat China in two straight pulls to win gold.

Chinese Taipei, which had won the 2006 Tug of War International Federation World Indoor Championships in Ireland and the 2005 World Games title in Duisburg, Germany, got another gold in the 480 kg women on 24 February.

The top six women's teams in the 520 kg division of the 2008 World Indoor Championships are eligible to compete in The World Games 2006.

Anna Dogonadze won the bronze at The World Games 1997 Lahti in women’s individual trampoline for herself and her native Georgia. When trampoline premiered in the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Anna competed for Germany.
