Only 20 minutes after ticket sales for The World Games 2009 had started, at noon on 1 April, all 440 floorside VIP seats to the DanceSport competitions at the Kaohsiung Arena were sold out. Even more remarkable: these were by far the most expensive of altogether 350,000 tickets to the 30+ sports on offer at over 4,000 7-ELEVEN convenience stores around the island.

5,000 NT$ - about 150 US$ - had to be paid per ticket to be able to watch the 68 top couples in Latin, Standard and Rock 'n' Roll from the most privileged vantage point on either 24 or 25 July.
