Board members of the International World Games Association (IWGA) and directors as well as key staffers of the Kaohsiung Organizing Committee (KOC) held another Coordination Committee meeting (CoCom) at Wenzao College in Kaohsiung City.


IWGA was represented by President Ron Froehlich, Secretary General Co Koren, Manager Patsy Dew, Sports Director Joachim Gossow, and Treasurer Lukas Hinder. International Olympic Committee (IOC) member C.K. Wu, the IOC Liaison to The World Games, also attended the meeting on the second day, after flying in directly from Madrid, Spain.


After welcome speeches by IWGA President Froehlich and Kaohsiung City Mayoress and KOC President Chu Chen, the main points on the agenda for the first day of the meeting were media and marketing, sports related planning and IT services. On day two, logistics, security, ticketing, and cultural events were discussed.


In order to avoid any health risks for athletes as well as the general public, KOC and the Kaohsiung City Government jointly announced the set-up of an Emergency Response Team. The team enforces measures to prevent an outbreak of infectious disaeses. A special Swine Flu Prevention Task Force will be created, and health controls on arriving passengers will be stepped up further at the Kaoshiung Airport and Harbor.

Altius: Anna Dogonadze, GER 15 Mar 2005
Anna Dogonadze won the bronze at The World Games 1997 Lahti in women’s individual trampoline for herself and her native Georgia. When trampoline premiered in the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Anna competed for Germany.
