The Mayor of Kaohsiung City and President of the Kaohsiung Organizing Committee -- Chen Chu -- is leading a delegation of 20 people on a visit to China.

Chen is accompanied by Kaohsiung Deputy Mayor Lee Yung-te and Ms. Liu Shih-fang, the Managing Director of the World Games 2009 Kaohsiung Organizing Committee.

They visit Beijing and Shanghai over the next three days, seeking new opportunities for economic cooperation between them and Kaohsiung. Prior to hosting The World Games in July, the group also wants to get some last-minute advice from the two cities, since they have staged many international sports events in the past. The delegation is also planning to take part in promotional events in Beijing and Shanghai, hoping to bring even more visitors from China to the upcoming World Games.
