With a short ceremony held at the Centro de Eventos del Pacífico in Cali, Colombia, the conclusion of the Host City Contract for The World Games 2013 was celebrated on Thursday, 19 August. The President of the International World Games Association (IWGA), Mr. Ron Froehlich, handed the IWGA flag over to the President of Colombia, Älvaro Uribe Vélez.

The dates for the ninth edition of The World Games have already been determined. The Opening Cermony will be held on 25 July 2013, the very day the City of Cali celebrates the 100th anniversary of its foundation. 4 August will be the final day of the Games.

During his stay in Cali, President Froehlich toured the host city and visited all of the sports venues again. He commended the organizers on the quality and the compact layout of the venues.

Anna Dogonadze won the bronze at The World Games 1997 Lahti in women’s individual trampoline for herself and her native Georgia. When trampoline premiered in the Sydney 2000 Olympics, Anna competed for Germany.
