The Asian Indoor Games are biennial multi-sport games held under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia for its 45 National Olympic Committees. The games are designed to encourage young Asians to participate in a wider range of sports at the international level.

The second edition in Macau last October attracted 4,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories in the region and featured 135 events.

The third Indoor Games will be held in  Viet Nam: in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh in November 2009.

A number of new sports have recently been added to the program. Some of them are sports of The World Games: fin swimming, boules sports, aerobic gymnastics and competition climbing. Ju jitsu will be a demonstration event.

Nguyen Danh Thai, President of the Viet Nam Olympic Committee, announced the 22 sports conducted during the Games, which he said, are being carefully planned.
