Under the title ALL THOSE OTHER SPORTS the Olympic Museum in Lausanne exhibits the very best photographs taken by an international team of photographers during The Seventh World Games 2005 Duisburg.
For the first time ever, the Olympic Museum dedicates a temporary exhibition to the sports on the program of the ‘other’ multi-sport games, The World Games. 25 years after their first edition was held in Santa Clara, USA, the Olympic Movement thus renders hommage to those sports which have been Olympic in the past (rugby through 1924, tug of war through 1928), which were considered for inclusion into to program of the London 2012 Games (karate, roller skating, rugby, squash), and all of which (from aikido to water ski) take pride in upholding the ideals of Olympism.

More than 30 in number, they are as diverse as only sport can be. Aerobics or powerlifting: cardiovascular endurance or the ultimate testo f strength, the breadth of the challenges is enormous. Air sports and underwater sports: their fields of play are far apart. The common ground lies in the athletes’ pursuit of excellence. “Master, higher, stronger” is the motto of all Olympians.
Ali Ghalamsiah (IRI, Gustavo Cabana (ARG), Rolf Kuratle (SUI) and firo sportphoto (GER) captured the best among them in action during The World Games 2005 Duisburg in Germany.
