The Kaohsiung Organizing Committee unveils the design of the medals for The World Games 2009.

Decorative elements such as butterflies and lilies complement the 2009 Kaohsiung logo, which is itself an artristic interpretation of the Chinese character 'Kao' ('High'). The lazurite bead, a symbol for honor in the Taiwanese Hakka culture, is inserted above.

The medals for the Official Sports are 8,5 cm in diameter, those for the Invitational Sports only 6,5 cm.
